Position Description

Are you familiar with the Internet of things?  This one’s for you!  Neato Robotics builds connected hardware devices and our Cloud team is looking for a talented “Rails Developer” to join our growing crew in Milan, Italy.  You would be extending the functionalities of the existing backend that all of our applications rely upon, and integrating with other major IoT players.  As a core part of the company strategy, you would be reporting to the Director of Cloud Services.


  • Implement new API functionalities, with a focus on interoperability (IoT)
  • Collaborate with cross-­‐functional teams to define, design and ship new features
  • Ensure a robust test suite coverage
  • Support Continuous Integration
  • Ease the adoption of Agile Methodologies


  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of Ruby on Rails experience
  • Strong Experience with HTTPs RESTful APIs development
  • Unit / integration testing (TDD a plus)
  • Familiarity with Heroku solutions (with plugins such as PostgreSQL, REDIS, Scheduler,
  • SendGrid, Logentries, …)
  • Usage of GitHub, Travis, Slack, Pivotal Tracker
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Extreme Programming a plus)
  • Programming in Erlang a plus
  • Familiarity with Amazon solutions a plus (EC2, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch,
    CodeDeploy, …)
