SUMMARY

We collect and use information about you, our Service users, in several ways. We receive information directly from you when you create a My Neato account or send us email. We also collect information electronically when you browse our Site or use our App. There are two types of information – anonymous and personal. Anonymous information is information that cannot be used to identify you, such as which browser you use. Personal information is any information that can be used to identify you individually, such as your name, address, or email address. You may be asked to provide personal information anytime you are in contact with us. We may share your personal information with our business affiliates, as described in detail below. We and our service providers may combine your personal information with other information to provide and improve our products, Services, and advertising. You are not required to provide any personal information that we request, but if you choose not to do so, in many cases we will not be able to provide you with our Services or respond to questions you might have. If you register AND connect your robot via Wi-Fi using our App, Neato collects location information, cleaning schedule and other product usage information, and this information is stored by the Neato cloud servers.

Information Collection, Use and Opting Out

The types of information that you provide actively and that we collect electronically all depend on your level of engagement with the Neato Services. The higher the level of your engagement, the more information we need to serve you. Currently there are four levels of engagement: Site Visitor (you browse the Site but do not register), Registered Potential Owner of a NEATO robot, Registered Owner, and App user. We have organized the explanation of our information collection and use practices, and your opportunities to opt out, from the lowest level of engagement to the highest.

Level 1: Site Visitor

What We Collect. We collect and store the following anonymous information about Site Visitors for the following purposes. This information is stored on servers in the U.S. If you do not want us to collect and store this information, you should not use our Site.

Cookies. Like most other websites, we and our website service providers use “cookies” to store information on your computer. A cookie is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent by a web server to your computer when you visit a website with that cookie’s tracker on it. Cookies help us to identify and track users as they travel through our Site. In addition, when you use the same browser to visit the Site again, or you visit another website that has the same tracker on it, the cookie allows that tracker to recognize your computer. Cookies may store user language preferences and location information. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being set. However, some Site features may not function properly without cookies. Most browsers accept cookies automatically but allow you to disable them. We recommend that you leave cookies enabled so that we can offer you the best experience on our Site.

First-Party Cookies. First-Party cookies are cookies set by us when you visit our Site. Our cookies store information about your location and language. These cookies cannot be blocked. If you do not wish to receive them, do not use our Site. Details are here: [LINK]

Third-Party Cookies Generally. Third-Party cookies are cookies set by other companies that we work with, or their affiliates. We do not have control over these cookies. For more information about each of these third party cookies, including information about how to opt-out: [LINK]

Third-Party Cookies for Web Site Use Analysis. We use third parties such as Google to help us analyze how people are using our Site. We use the Google Analytics service to provide us with anonymous information about our Site Visitors; this service uses a cookie that can be recognized by Google or its affiliate DoubleClick when you visit other websites. Google Analytics provides us with your language, browser, country, type of device (computer, tablet, mobile phone), and location information. To opt out of Google Analytics for display advertising or to customize Google display network ads, you can visit the Google Ads Settings page. To opt out of the DoubleClick cookie, you can install the DoubleClick opt out extension on your browser.

Third-Party Cookies Used to Target Ads to You When You are on Other Websites. We work with other companies who use their cookies to target Neato Robotics ads to you on other websites. For example, when Neato is working with an ad network, the ad network cookie will record that you visited our Site, and then the ad network may serve vacuum-related ads to you when you visit other websites. This is called online behavioral advertising, because you receive ads based on your online behavior. Similarly, our Site sets cookies on your browser that are read when you visit Facebook, so that during your visits to the Facebook website you might receive Neato Robotics advertising based on the pages you visited on our Site. This is called retargeting.

Device Identifiers. When you use a mobile device such as a tablet or cell phone to use our Site, we may assign or access one or more tokens or "Device Identifiers." Device Identifiers are small data files associated with your mobile device that uniquely identify your mobile device to us. A Device Identifier may deliver information to us or a third party partner about how you browse and use our Site and may help us or others provide reports or personalized ads. Some Site features may not function properly if use or availability of Device Identifiers is impaired or disabled.

Opting Out Generally. We do not have access to, nor does this Privacy Policy govern, the use of cookies or other tracking technologies that may be placed on your computer, mobile phone, or other device by non-affiliated third-party ad technology, ad servers, ad networks or any other non-affiliated third parties. If you would like to learn more about behavioral advertising or to opt out of having this information used by companies that are part of the Network Advertising Initiative to deliver targeted ads, please visit http://www.networkadvertising.org. Many of the same companies are members of the Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising. You can learn more and opt out of receiving targeted ads from them at http://www.aboutads.info/choices. If you are in the EU, visit http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/. Choices you make are both browser and device-specific. This means that if you opt out when using Safari on your computer at work, you will not be opted out on Chrome or on your home computer. Please note that when you opt out of an ad network, you may receive an "opt-out" cookie so that the network will know not to assign you new cookies in the future. You will continue to receive ads from that network, but not behaviorally targeted ads. If you erase your browser's cookies, you may need to perform this process again.

Deleting cookies. To manage or delete browser cookies, please see your browser's privacy settings

Flash Cookies. We currently do not use flash cookies, but we may in the future. To manage or delete Flash cookies, please use the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager here: Website Storage Settings panel

o Not Track. Some browsers have a ‘do not track’ feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. These features are not yet uniform, so we are not currently set up to respond to those signals.

Level 2: Account Holder

When you create a My Neato account, we ask you to provide your email address and to create a password. Similarly, when you send us a question, we require an address or phone number so that we can send you a response.

We may use cookies to remember your sign-in credentials so you don’t have to enter those credentials each time you log in to your My Neato account.

When you create a My Neato account, you are signing up to receive email from us about software updates, customer surveys, and product research. You will also have the option to sign up to receive email about new NEATO products and other Neato news and offers.

Similarly, when you create a My Neato account as a developer, we ask you to provide your email address and to create a password; you are signing up to receive email from us about software updates, customer surveys, and product research; and you will also have the option to sign up to receive email about new NEATO products and other Neato news and offers. Additionally, you also get access to our developer website and developer Software Development Kits (“SDKs”), subject to our developer terms of service.

Level 3: Registered Robot Owner

Robot Owners may register their NEATO robots in their My Neato account. At registration, we ask for robot type, serial number, purchase date, and, optionally, purchase receipt. We may also ask for other information in surveys to assist us with new product development by asking questions about how you like your NEATO robot or how you use it. You do not have to participate in these surveys.

Level 4: Connected App User

If you use the NEATO app to manage your NEATO robot, the information below will be stored in our cloud servers. We use industry-standard methods to keep this information safe and secure while it is transmitted over your home network and through the Internet to our servers.
